It’s the Start of Pumpkin Everything Season!

It’s October, when pumpkin everything season begins! So, I thought I’d share with you my Harvest Spiced Protein Smoothie recipe. I love making this when I don’t have time to cook a meal. It’s really a meal in and of itself.  It’s got all the good things for you like: calcium, beta carotene, potassium, protein, and sweetened with a bit of pure maple syrup.  It’s non-dairy too!

I have absolutely no idea how many calories it is, but they’re all good calories right?

 Harvest Spiced Protein Smoothie

  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1/2 cup Vanilla So Delicious Coconut Yogurt
  • 3/4  cup Pumpkin Puree {preferably fresh pumpkin puree over canned. I make fresh pumpkin puree using this method.
    Once you use fresh pumpkin puree, you’ll never go back to the canned!
  • 1 TBSP Vanilla Protein Powder {of choice}
  • 1/8 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • A Dash of Cardamom {or more if you like this spice}
  • 1 tsp. Pure Maple Syrup {more if you like yours sweeter}
  • 1 cup Almond Milk {I use unsweetened vanilla}
  •  1 TBSP. Roasted Pecans
  • Extra Pecans and a Dash of Cinnamon to Garnish
  • Ice {about 1/2 cup} if your pumpkin puree wasn’t frozen and you need to add some “thickness”

Throw all in the blender and whip on high. Garnish with extra pecans and cinnamon if desired. Recipe makes about 2  1/2 cups smoothie.

 Let Pumpkin Everything Season Begin!
